Microsoft

The first news is from Microsoft Bing. Microsoft Bing has updated the Bing Webmaster Guidelines on 1 July. Microsoft Bing has added a security feature that is related to promotion injection. It means that this security feature is not for you, it is for Bing. Now, according to this guideline of Bing, you cannot add any promotion to your content or in the content of your web page that helps Bing's search bots to rank your pages higher forcibly. You must have used Chat GPT or Bing Chat etc. where whatever you tell that bot, it does exactly the same. Now, because the elements of Bing Chat are also used within Bing search. So, Bing does not want you to add such a promotion in your content that let if so and so keyword is asked in the chat, then rank my page at the top because such promotions can also affect Bing Chat and this may already be going on in me too. That is why This security feature is being added, you know you lock only where theft is taking place, okay so if you are giving different types of promises as an example on your pages, then you should be very careful that Bing search does not de-index your page, they may feel that you are trying to recover their search bot.

Google Ads

The next news from Google Ads on July 11 is that now you can provide your return and shipping policy in Google Search Console itself. Till now this function was available in Google Merchant Center and also you could add the details of this shipping policy etc. in the schema data of your page. Now if any product is available on your website and Google is also accepting and recognizing them in Google Search Console, then you have to go to your Google Search Console account and after going to the Settings tab you will see a window named Shipping and in this window you can add a link to the details of the shipping and return policy.

The next news is from Google Ads on July 11. If you are using Smart Bidding in Google Console in Google Search Ads, then by default your keyword match type will be Broad Match, Google will set it automatically, however, you can also turn it off.

Google

On July 18, Google announced that the URL sorting service will be discontinued from August 25, 2025.

On July 22, Google announced that Google Chrome cookies will not be removed completely. Chat GPT

If you are a paid member of Chat GPT, you can join a waitlist. Its access has also started rolling out slowly to some people. Now you understand why Bing launched its new, you know, generative search on 24th July. Because you know they have invested 10 billion dollars, so they know what announcement is going to be made the next day by Chat GPT. That is why they launched their new generative search engine on 24th July. If this search engine of Chat GPT is even slightly good, then no one will use Bing search anyway and even if it is not good, then also there will be no benefit in using Bing search or Bing's generated search. So anyway I think the failure of Bing search or Bing-generated search is already certain.

Reddit
